Mining Traffic on YouTube

Posted by khimzhie On November - 10 - 2009

Youtube.com is one of the biggest sites that is hit by millions of visitors every day. It serves atleast 2 million videos every day. Now just imagine how would it be if you can divert a part of this huge traffic to your site?

Well, there are 2 of my faviourite strategies for doing this.

Create a video of your chosen niche

Suppose your site is about meditation, then create a simple video on meditation. You can do this from a simple powerpoint presentation. Now upload this video to youtube. Many people just wonder why they are not getting traffic from their videos. Just listen to me: Uploading a video is not enough to get the traffic. Your video should have some qualities to get the hits and then divert them to your site.

a. Put your main keyword phrase in the video title

b. Use the keyword phrase in the video description atleast 3 times.

c. Put your site name for atleast 30 seconds in the video.

d. Put your site url in the beginning and end of the video description.

Now there is one more important thing. That is the tags. Tags are nothing but the keyword phrases that will be used by visitors to search the same type of content. Well, instead of reinventing the keyword phrases again and again, I would like to suggest the below strategy.

1. Go to youtube and search for your primary keyword phrase; for eg: meditation.

2. In the results you get, choose the most popular one, the one that received more hits.

3. Get the tags of this video and modify them slightly.

4. Use it for your video.

Wait a minute…

There is one more powerful way to get immediate traffic from youtube.

To get immediate traffic for your video, first choose the most popular and active video in youtube, on your niche. Post your video as a video response.

Now sitback and see the hits coming to your video like crazy.

Cheers

“I could write all night long and not get tired of it. I think that is when you know you’ve tapped into a true passion. Whatever that thing may be, if you could do it all day or night long, lose track of time, ‘wake up’ ten hours later, and still thirst for more, that is a passion, and I feel like I’ve found that in my writing.”
